Infinity Pool (2023). Streaming on Hulu. Brandon Cronenberg wrote this sci-fi horror movie about a novelist (Alexander Skarsgård) and his wife who vacation in an idyllic country with a dark secret. While staying at a luxury resort the novelist meets a fan named Gabi (Mia Goth) who tempts him to walk on the wild side. New Religion (2022). Streaming on Screambox. A haunting slow burn horror drama following a mother mourning her daughter’s death. The woman takes a job as a call girl and meets clients who want to photograph her body. She realizes that with each photograph, her daughter’s spirit draws nearer.
Unwelcome (2023). Streaming on Shudder. New on Shudder is this folk horror movie about a couple that moves from the city to rural Ireland. The beautiful home seems perfect at first but they are cautioned of the “Red Caps that live in the forest”. Dismissing the warning as superstition, the couple faces increasingly creepy consequences.
The Angry Black Girl and Her Monster (2023). Available on VOD. A sci-fi horror movie that is a loose adaptation of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. A brilliant teenage girl named Vicaria (Laya DeLeon Hayes) believes that death is a disease that she can cure. When her brother passes, she sets her sights on bringing him back to life.
