Today is a little light on streaming releases with only two, but there are three new horror movies in theaters to check out! Jimmy and Stiggs

The writer and director, Jeff Begos, also stars in the movie as Jimmy.

Filmmaker Jimmy Lang’s career isn’t doing so well at the moment, and his drug and alcohol benders aren’t helping. Jimmy attempts to contact his buddy Stiggs to get his life back on track, but before that happens he needs to fight off a bunch of aliens who are trying to abduct him.

Witchboard

Witchboard was directed by Chuck Russell, director of A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (1987) and The Blob (1988).

A couple comes into possession of a pendulum board with a dark history. After using it, people around the couple start dying as the supernatural force connected to the board tries to come through.

Went Up the Hill

Dacre Montgomery and Vicky Krieps star as Jack and Jill.

A woman named Elizabeth dies. Attending her funeral is Elizabeth’s estranged son Jack, and Elizabeth’s widow Jill. Jill didn’t know her wife had a son, and so the two strangers come together in their grief. With them, perhaps, is Elizabeth’s spirit.

Descendent

Ross Marquand (The Walking Dead) and Sarah Bolger (Into the Badlands) star in Descendent.

For viewers who enjoy: alien abduction movies, psychological thriller, domestic horror

After seeing a strange light in the sky one night and having an accident that sends him to the hospital, Sean begins seeing images that lead him to believe he was abducted by aliens. As his fear grows, he becomes convinced that he needs to protect his pregnant wife from a dark force.

The Ruse

The Ruse was written and directed by Stevan Mena (Malevolence, 2003).

For viewers who enjoy: mysteries, haunted house stories

An in-home caregiver accepts a job in a house that is said to be haunted. She has unusual experiences, but the longer she stays in the house, the more she suspects that something else might be going on besides a haunting.
