‘Hell House LLC: Lineage’ is Now Playing in Theaters
It’s the first non-found-footage movie in the franchise. It is also (probably) the last movie in the series.

The fifth and final movie in the Hell House LLC series began playing in theaters yesterday, August 20th! This marks the first time a movie in the franchise will be presented with a traditional cinematic structure instead of as a pseudo-documentary with found footage. Will the change pay off? Will Lineage be the “scariest of them all” as writer/director Stephen Cognetti has said?
Hell House LLC: Lineage focuses on Vanessa Shepherd (Elizabeth Vermilyea) who first appeared in Hell House LLC III: Lake of Fire (2019). Still haunted by her experience in the Abaddon Hotel, Vanessa is drawn back into the horror by a series of deaths in the town of Abaddon. Take a look at the trailer below.
Not having seen Lineage yet, it seems like there’s a lot going on. The lore of the franchise has grown with each movie, and this fifth entry seems like it wants to connect everything. Hopefully it does, but hopefully it’s also accessible to new viewers.
In addition to Elizabeth Vermilyea returning as Vanessa, members of the Carmichael family who were introduced in the fourth movie have also returned for part five. They include Catherine (Cayla Berejikian), Patrick (Gideon Berger), and Margaret (Victoria Andrunik). So, if you plan to do homework before going to see Lineage, be sure to watch Hell House LLC III: Lake of Fire (on Tubi) and Hell House LLC Origins: The Carmichael Manor (on Shudder).
If you want to watch Hell House LLC: Lineage in theaters, be sure to act quickly. It’s a limited release in the United States through Iconic Events. Shows are running at least through this weekend, but they might not last much longer than that. Check Fandango for showtimes in your area.
No official date has been announced for when Lineage will start streaming on Shudder, but it’s expected that it will be sometime in October.
